On Friday March 29th grade four students visited the Hangzhou Expo Center, the main venue of the 2016 G20 Summit. The center consists of convention, exhibition, and commerce offices, while the main venue holds both modern facilities and the human spirit of classical Jiangnan.
The corridor, the entrance and the Reception Hall consists of a traditional Chinese architecture that welcomes visitors, showing the hospitality that lasts for thousands of years. The Main Conference Hall is a cube space which embodies the idea of the round sky with square earth. WIS fourth graders enjoyed sitting in a traditional garden on the 5th floor. It is a roof garden and acted as the venue for the leaders’ cocktail party during the G20 Hangzhou Summit. The Leaders’ Banquet Hall is also on the 5th floor and the students were mesmerized by its high dome and large surface of glass which allows in natural daylight. The whole Hall is designed on the theme of Humanity, bridging the East and the West
