WIS Open Day Event was held in each grade this week for parents to learn about the inquiry-based learning activities students were engaged in, and the curriculum that subject teachers shared with them. This term, WIS is making progress in implementing the IB curriculum which aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
The Open Day Event offered parents a glimpse of IB implementation, students’ inquiry-based learning in classes as well as a variety of teaching strategies that our teachers adopted to allow for different levels and learning habits of the students.
After the event, many parents responded with messaged for teachers in which they expressed appreciations for the school’s curriculum and teaching. Open day events also serve to foster close relationships between parents and the school.
