Friday, September 25th, our WIS family had the opportunity to participate in the annual sports day organized by the physical education
department.
Our students started getting excited and talking about it two weeks before the event, as they were shown a video of all the activities they could take part in. The students knew some of the games well like Tug-of-War or ring toss, but others were entirely new for them. Luckily, they had the opportunity to learn some of the latest games during PE class for them to enjoy them on the day.
Students were divided into four colors among the grades. This year, we
wanted students to interact and engage with their classmates and students from other classes. By doing this, we allow students to apply some of the IB skills they have been learning and which we believe are crucial for their
development.
Friday arrived, and all students, teachers, and volunteer parents gathered at 8:30 for the opening ceremony in which students became even more excited as they knew it was about to start. After a fun group warm-up, all teams got ready to begin their exciting journey through the 12 stations that were set up for them.
After 2.5 hours of fun, students had the opportunity to see their parents compete against teachers in a friendly tug of war match.
Congratulations to all parents who won 2-0!
As an IB candidate school, it is essential to utilize the skills we learn daily. Following the games, all students, teachers, and parents worked together gathering trash. It was divided into recyclable and non-recyclable.
Finally, the time to determine the winning team had come. All students gathered together and were nervous but excited to know the results after trying their best during the day. Congratulations to the white team who won by one point! We are sure all the teams worked hard to get the trophy.
We want to take this opportunity to thank all parents and especially those who volunteered, we truly value all of your support. Also we would like to thank all the teachers and administrative staff, without whom this event would not have been possible. You all genuinely care for the
wellbeing of the students. THANK YOU ALL!
It is time to start planning our next sports day for next year. We will be excited to welcome you all again!
SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR, GET READY FOR MORE FUN!!!
