Grade 5 students had a grand time learning about and constructing a rollercoaster. They were excited as they saw the culmination of hard work pay off to build a rollercoaster. They used the Design Thinking Process to help build the structure. Amid trial and error and thinking in a scientific way, they were able to complete it. While building they were able to experience hands on: potential energy, kinetic energy, friction, gravity, simple machines with a pulley system, and the use of magnets.
