Grade 4 and 5 have been working on a mini-society unit in their homeroom classes, to continue with this theme in music we studied national anthems, learning to recognise aurally the similarities and characteristics of national anthems from around the world. Using this knowledge each class have begun composing their own mini-society’s national anthem. Through this unit we will learn about harmony, chords, scales, ways of writing and recording original compositions, planning and evaluating our own and others’ work alongside continuing to develop skills for working in a team.
