Middle School just finished an eight week unit on drawing and the neuroscience of tapping into to their right brain capabilities. We saw some very interesting results and lots of progress. Students have become more aware of details and they know the difference between drawing what they see, and not the symbols from their stored mental images. Research claims that learning how to draw helps students in all academic subjects. We are on to Optical Art.
