Learning to care for the earth has become one of the most important values to share with children. Both ‘Arbor day’ and ‘Earth day’ gave us the opportunity to learn about the state of the planet and how we are hurting our home and the animals in it. We discovered many simple ways we could help through the books we read. We also drew and wrote about protecting nature and how to recycle the things we use. In order to learn responsible practices, went around the school picking up trash at the playground. For a few weeks, we also practiced putting our trash in the correct recycling bins. Finally, the kids made imaginative projects using recycled material. Going green is easier than most people think but it takes ‘green thinking’ to make a real difference.
