Winter Show is our biggest event of the year, it runs annually. Students and teachers all contribute their talent into the planning of this event, to celebrate their achievement of the year and to welcome the arrival of the new year.

2024｜Wahaha Schools 10th Anniversary

On December 20, 2024, Hangzhou Wahaha Schools 10th Anniversary was grandly celebrated at the Hangzhou Gymnasium.

Relevant leaders from the provincial, city, and district levels, principals from sister schools, scholars and experts, renowned authors, along with teachers, students, and parents of the schools, jointly witnessed this significant event.

A decade is 120 chapters of poetry, each line drawn by the rising and setting sun; it is 3,650 cycles of day and night, each turn bringing new beginnings. For Hangzhou Wahaha Schools, these ten years have been a radiant journey, rich with dreams and achievements, sown with efforts and reaped with rewards.

2023｜Tomorrowland

To empower our students to freely envision the future, this edition of the Winter Show encouraged exploration right from its creative inception. Through curious eyes and continuous brainstorming, and collaborative teamwork, the students collectively envisioned what the future might hold.

Teachers and students breathed life onto the stage, transcending the confines of time and space. Together, they embarked on a journey, pondering our future, imagining the unknown universe…

2022 | Sustainability

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals identified by the United Nations cover a wide range of issues, from environmental protection to social and economic development.

Given the urgent need to address these challenges, sustainability has become an essential issue that requires immediate attention and action.

As an international school, what can we do for sustainability?

How can we incorporate sustainability into education?

The 2022 Winter Show of Wahaha Schools has adopted the theme of “Sustainability”, calling on every student and community member to take a serious interest in social issues that go beyond oneself and contribute to a sustainable future through concrete actions, keeping the big picture in mind.

2021 | Innovation

For Wahaha Schools Hangzhou, this year’s Winter Show was somewhat special. Due to a new wave of COVID-19 that hit the city of Hangzhou just as the Spring Festival was approaching, the Show had to be postponed.

And finally, the long-awaited 8^th Winter Show kicked off in the early spring of 2022.

Innovation means breaking down biases and reshaping oneself, just like when one is on stage, one can be in the field on a spring day, play different characters from different classic stories, or perform a lively street dance.

Embarking on a quest to search for our deepest curiosity…

When we look up at the sky, we are sowing seeds of curiosity that will grow on this land.

This splendid Winter Show is a precious gift that this spring presents to our kids.

No matter how high a mountain is, It’s no higher than the climber that conquers it.

2020 | Heal the World with Empathy and Care

2020 has been an unforgettable year. We have encountered uncertainty, changes and separation from loved ones. We have seen the worst, but we know the best is yet to come.

No one is an island, entire of itself; we must rely on others’ company and comfort to thrive.

Glancing aroud, the blending and merging of different cultures are happening all the time. Every conversation and disagreement makes us more aware that the destiny of human beings is closely connected.

Hangzhou Wahaha International School has held the 7th annual Winter Show on December 17^th.

The theme was “Heal the World“, advocating for children from all over the world to open their arms, practice empathy and caring behaviors to build a community with a shared future for human beings. Then we can begin to heal the world and create an even better future for everyone.

2019 | Together

Students in collaboration with teachers designed every Winter Show performance. This year there was no exception. It was a great way to showcase our IB-mindedness and stands in contrast with the traditional way of organizing a school performance!

All the homeroom teachers and specialist teachers (Music, Art, STEAM, PE) were there to guide and teach our students how to create and design their own performances. In PYP this was part of their unit of inquiry. Many classes made their own props and costumes, they chose their own songs and created their own choreography. Many classes created their own script and directed their own plays.

Throughout the whole winter show process, students learned what they can achieve as one and how to cooperate with others and help each other to be creative and successful! We are preparing our students to be future team players and leaders!

2018 | Once Upon A Time

It’s the fifth year of the Winter Show, we are dreaming bigger and bolder.

This year, our show’s theme is “Once Upon a Time”.

We travel through time, into the wonderland of kids’ imagination and magically encounter the fantastical characters in fairy tales.

2017 | We are the World–To Live, To Love, To Laugh

As a farewell greeting to 2017, Wahaha Schools held its 3rd Annual Winter Show entitled “We are the Word” on December 21st 2017. In a celebration of diversity and inclusiveness, all parents were invited to come and enjoy our students’ unique interpretations of the theme “To live, To love, To Laugh”.
